In the documentary “After the Tribulation” Pastor Steven L Anderson very early in the documentary (0:05:10 to be exact) claims that there is no evidence of anyone teaching a “pre-tribulation rapture” before 1830. The next over 2 hours is spent trying to persuade us that the rapture is post-tribulation and not pre-tribulation because John Darby began to teach it in 1830, and through his Scofield Study Bible (1917) the teaching made its way into the Christian church.
Also in the documentary (0:09:08 to be exact) the statement is made that the key bible verse of the rapture is 1 Thessalonians 4:13.
Interestingly there is a book of 624 pages that would also agree that it is the key bible verse of the rapture. In fact the whole book of 624 pages is divided into 7 main periods of church history based on the 7 churches found in the book of Revelation chapters 1-4. This very same book opens on page 2 with the chapter title of “Nation of the Jews” and speaks of how the Jews will return as a nation being very important to future events. That before Christ would rebuild the kingdom of Israel through “the great Tribulation”, Christ would come in the air to gather the saints and return to heaven before the battle of Armageddon. The book with the 624 pages in it teaching what we are told in the documentary “After the Tribulation” that can not be found any where before 1830, just happens to have been written in the year 1687; over 100 years before the birth of John Darby (1800-1882), and 143 years before 1830. Also in the documentary video it makes another big error in that it tells us to divide the book of Revelation into two parts at chapter 11… when clearly John contradicts this by saying that the book of Revelation is not 2 parts, but is made up of 3 parts :
“Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;” Revelation 1:19
The book of Revelation- Write:
part 1- “the things which thou hast seen”
part 2- ” the things which are”
part 3- “the things which shall be hereafter”
We find in our bibles just like- “Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord God.” Exodus 23:17, we find in the book of Revelation to “Come up hither” three times:
Revelation 4:1
Revelation 11:12
Revelation 17:1
We are told that these 3 parts are called: “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection (aka “rapture”)…” Revelation 20:6
“the first resurrection” is made up of the following: “the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles” see Deuteronomy 16:16.
Comments
So my question is will there be a pre tribulation rapture or post tribulation rapture or somewhere in between?
The “First Resurrection” (or what many call the rapture) is in three parts, for three different groups at three different times. “The first resurrection” is made up of the following: “the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles”…
